Carter Keith Hoots
September 15, 2009 6 lbs. 9 oz.
Summer 2009
Wow what a summer, alot of joy and sadness. This is our first year breeding and I wasn't prepared for all the bad things that can come along with that. Just last week we had a newborn baby jenny die. Breaks your heart. We also had 3 rescues out of 4 die. It hurts to see thme in such sad shape when you get them home and try to make them better but in the end I'm glad their last days were spent with us and I'm glad they were here long enough to impact our lives. On a brighter note we have had many foals all jennies except 2 little jacks, one spotted out of Sadie and one brown out of CSF Brown Sugar. Cheyenne's Pixie Dust is the newest addition to the barn and she is a spunky little thing!!! Perfect in every way and sweet as can be of course. She came at just the right time the same day we found the other baby dead. That was a rough week. Cheyenne's Sugar Baby is ready to go to a new home but I sure will miss him.
And onto the 2 legged creatures here at The Donkey Depot, we have welcomed Carter Keith Hoots born September 15, 2009. He is 7 weeks old now and while he takes much of my energy we love him so much!!! Not for sale though!!!
We have also bought some great breeding stock lately we have a solid black jenny, and I mean black!!! We can't wait to breed this girl Cheyenne's Merrell and see what she throws.
We are thankfully down to one breeding jack so we can have everyone in 2 pastures and rotate.
We have a few left for sale and are probably going to give it a break until more babies are born so get them while you can and let me know if I can help!
Hope and Faith's story
Me and 2 of my donkey friends were looking around at the donkeys at an auction and we find one in very bad shape, so we go get the vet who does the on site coggins and he not only knows the owners but they are his neighbors. So I am thinking they live down the road somewhere close by I want to talk to them for sending an animal in this shape to the auction block. In the meantime, I find out that he is a vet out of Ohio where the donkeys came from. He tells me if I want to help to take the jenny down to the barn where the public can't see her while he makes some phone calls. I take her to the barn where there is another jenny being hidden who is in worse shape than the one I found. She aborted her baby after her trip here from Ohio that evedentally stressed her so much that she lost her baby. She is passing blood and still contracting and in alot of pain. So we wait around for hours waiting on the vet and I told him to call the owners and tell them I will take them both home as is so they can have a fighting chance. He comes back with a ridiculous amount for these sick jennies and it is either pay it or they are traveling back to Ohio Saturday night, so we negotiate a tad bit and he thinks it might be in their best interest to go with me. So after paying him we get these pitiful jennies loaded. One is so skinny and weak she can barely walk. He thinks she might too be in premature labor. (she's not) anyway the other one is still contracting from 2 days ago and we are giving shots to both of these sweet girls. I'm thinking of naming these Hope and Faith because without both I'm afraid they would have been dead today. By the way, the owners his neighbors, sent these jennies and more down with him and he says they too rescued them. All I can say is they will not be leaving our barn until they are completely healthy, that is what you do when you rescue an animal, you don't let it leave until it is in better condition than when you bought it. Much more to come on this topic after what I witnessed last night. The jennies are both up and standing today and they are eating, the solid gray one has been starved you can see every bone in her body. The other has a white blaze face and she is the one who lost her baby over this. It puts everything into perspective once again for me. There are too many animals out there in this shape and worse and we do not need to breed more that might end up in this same shape. Owning an animal is a life long commitment, I know some of my donkeys will out live me so it is really a life long commitment. More to come on these sweet jennies, they deserve better and they are now getting it.
more on Hope and Faith
Well Hope and Faith, Faith was just starving to death and now with all the love and attention and hay she gets she is a happy camper. Her stall mate Hope is not doing as well, our wonderful vet has been out and we have done alot for Hope but we aren't sure how this will turn out for her. We are making her as comfortable as possible but the main goal right now is getting her temperture up. She is at 94.4 and that is as high as we can get her with blankets and a bath robe (we had to imprevise) She has alot stacked against her right now, but we have had others pull out of bad situations. If you are reading this please say a prayer for her she needs all the help she can get right now. She has a lung problem, the abortion, still contracting, the low temp., and goopy eyes, she is also drooling from her mouth and laying alot. Also, not eating and getting dehydrated. Our vet says she is about 14 and the sale said 6 years old. Guys be careful at these sales, cheaper is not always better. You never know what you are getting into and unless you are fully prepared to spend the night with these animals until they get better don't do it. I'm going back down in about 30 minutes to re-scheck her temp and it's already midnight. We have never lost a donkey and I do not plan on starting now!!! But I do not want her in pain so she has her pain medicine and we hope that Hope pulls out of this so she can live the rest of her life better than the first part of it.
more and more on Hope and Faith
If you have been keeping up on Hope and Faith they are on the road to recovery. Hope made it thru the days the vet said she shouldn't have. We never cease to amaze the vet with these donkeys. She said if Hope were a horse she would have been dead days ago. We couldn't be happier with her progress. Her temp is back up to somewhat normal and she is eating again. Faith eats all the time now, poor donkey I don't think she had hay or any food in awhile. We still have to trim their feet they haven't been trimmed in years most likely but we are very optimistic on their recovery. It does our heart good to pull them out of a bad situation and get them on the road to recovery and find them wonderful homes that will continue the care they receive at our farm. These girls have loved the attention they have received here, just brushing them you can tell they are smiling inside. They love the kids going in the stall with them and loving on them. They are going to make someone very loving pets in the near future and I'm glad we were at the right place at the right time to get them to where they are today.
And the conclusion on Hope and Faith
I had the vet Gail call today checking on Hope, much to her surprise she is doing much better. She expected her to be worse by now or passed. That just shows how bad she really was. She is now eating like all the other donkeys and drinking too. This is a huge step considering this time last week she was near death. Gail said is would be ok to worm her tomorrow and shots in a couple of weeks and in the time in between that we have to get her feet done. So she is on the road to recovery. Her stall buddy Faith is also much better we will worm her tomorrow also. Hopefully it will clear up this weekend so we can get them outside for a little while. We shouldn't be in a drought for much longer with all of the rain we have had in the past couple of weeks. Thanks for your prayers we pulled this jenny from death and it nothing less than a miracle that she is doing this much better today.
Hope and Faith were placed in a wonderful new home in Virginia and I get updates on them, they are now fat, rotten and sassy!
Spring 2008
Our story is coming out in the July 2008 issues of Equine Journal and the SaltBlock Gazette. We couldn't be more thrilled about this. Our kids think we are famous now! Whatever makes them happy and gets these donkeys to good loving homes that will take care of them.

Who said being a beauty school drop out wouldn't pay off someday??? Well, my daddy will be so proud I used everything I learned in Cosmetology school on donkeys this week!!! Ok I never finished the schooling but what parts I took I used this week and I know now that I could not have done it full-time. Man that is a work out!!! I am almost done, the new jacks are gorgeous!!! Some had some matts so I had to shave them. They weren't as happy as I was when I finished but none the less they are beautiful if I do say so myself. I have the pictures everyone has been asking and waiting on and I will post them within the next few hours. It's 2 am and I'm just getting around to updating so maybe tomorrow they will be on the site. In the mean time come on over and visit us. I'll let you clean a stall or shave a donkey, or you can just watch. It's really alot harder than I anticipated. And it can get really messed up really quick, just ask poor Johnny, it's a good thing he's a keeper around here. Hopefully it will grow out soon. Maybe you can't tell too bad in the pictures I will post them and you all can let me know how bad you think he looks. I finally got up the courage today to finish him and shave his face. He's been walking around with what looked like a big head and tiny body for over a week now. Give us a call and we can get you out here. You all need to give me some input and let me know if you like the updates or not. Don't be afraid to leave a message on my Guestbook! Thanks to all of you who keep up with my updates.

Two of our previous donkeys have already made a magazine. Hershey and Romeo who went to live in Lewisville, NC with Tim and Michelle Welborn and their 2 daughters Logan and Lilly had a story in the Forsyth Woman magazine about Lilly's Dravet Syndrome. They are starting a farm with animals for therapeutic field trips and the story tells all about their family and the things they are doing in the community. You can go to http://www.forsythwoman.com/ and their story is on page 30 and 31. You can also look at http://www.boogieforbabies.com/ for their fundraising information for the IDEA League. We have been so blessed to meet so many wonderful people through our donkeys that all come from different walks of life. We have enjoyed spending time with the Welborn's and their farm animals. And there is much more to come on the great things they are going to do with these animals for children.
DO NOT try the peat moss!!! Bad idea, the donkeys have black dust all over them which means I have black stuff all over me. I do not like the peat moss. Thought we would try it but did I mention, I do not like the peat moss....bad idea.....peat moss is bad and very black and very dirty. Everytime I come in from the barn I look like I have been rolling around in top soil. Not to mention not good on the girly nails...I also look like a mechanic, I will be going and getting the Equine Fresh this weekend. I love it. I hope no one else thought it was a good idea and went and tried it. If you did sorry for the recommendation.
June 8, 2008
Another busy weekend on the farm. We found a home for Roscoe "Taz" we will keep his progress updated. We also delivered Eeyore with him and Tiny Tim and Harley went to Thomasville, NC. They have a wonderful barn and new home with the Berkey's.
Our last bottle fed kitten died this morning. Little Rascal was a fighter and will be dearly missed by all who came in contact with him. We had been bottle feeding him for 5 weeks and thought he had made it through the tough times already and weren't prepared for yesterday when he started going down hill.
We have 2 donkeys that will be visiting us for some training starting this week. Cheyenne and Dakota who live here in Mocksville. The cool thing is as you may know we were originally Cheyenne Stables and when we started The Donkey Depot we added it to what we are now as The Donkey Depot at Cheyenne Stables. Not many people realize the meaning behind our name of our farm but my husband and I had a baby girl 6 years ago who passed away and her name was Cheyenne. We knew when we started our farm we wanted her name in it to keep her memory alive. So we came up with Cheyenne Stables. And then The Donkey Depot followed soon after. We miss her deeply as any of you may know if you have ever lost a child it is something you never get back to normal from. And we now have 4 children and 1 angel.
So it is awesome to have a little Cheyenne donkey around here for a little while. I'm sure her and Dakota will be much better after some training with us, The Donkey Depot at Cheyenne Stables.
June 13, 2008
We brought Cheyenne to our barn for some training and she is doing so well. She now leads and can be caught on the first try. We left Dakota at home as her mom didn't want to be left without any donkeys. So we took Conway to be her buddy for awhile. Cheyenne is now doing much better, she had not had a halter or lead rope on her since coming home last year. She got her feet trimmed and is actually behaving. Her mom is so proud of her. And Conway is training Dakota in a way. We got the halter and lead rope on her and she follows Conway around.
June 19, 2008
Cheyenne is coming along on her training but her owners have decided to sell her. Here is your chance to own a tyger spotted jenny! She is a bit of a bully and we are still working with her. We drove 4 hours to pick up little Cheyenne's Piper on Tuesday and it was a bit over kill with her by herself in the 12 foot stock trailer but she had plenty of room. She laid down the entire way home. She is precious, we clipped her yesterday and you will fall in love. We put her in with Cheyenne's Jolene and Cheyenne's Shelby and they have made friends already. The donkeys are loving the weather. Okey Dokey runs in circles around Dolly Mama in the field and he even brays!!! We have been trying to clip little Fonzie right and it's just not working!!! He was so matted now he looks like one of those hairless cats...I hope it grows back soon because instead of gray he is mud color.
The kids are loving being out of school but we are keeping them pretty busy. We were delivering hay until 10 last night. Savannah is learning how to count to 100 by counting bales of hay...such a redneck child!!! But at least now she knows instead of 20 10 it is 30!!!!
Well, I'm off to feed and work on Fonzie some more, not sure if it is getting better or worse. Let me know if you want to come out and see the hairless donkey!!!
July 3, 2008
Okey Dokey has been sold without mama. It took some persuading but he is going for a good cause when weaned. His soldier dad will be here to pick him up at weaning time. Okey Dokey got in the cross fires between the jennies and got a nose bleed and and couple of scrapes and scratches. He is fine now but he did worry me. Our jennies are bullies at times.
The weather has been so nice part of the donkeys have been out night and day. Little Piper is in a stall with Jolene and Shelby instead of out with the herd all the time. Rocky of course is still in a stall by himself. And Dolly mama and Okey Dokey get their own stall. Spade and Festus are hanging out with Fonzie while we try to get some weight on this little guy. It is hard to gage what he gets just out in the pasture and he needs alot of weight on him.
Cheyenne is still here, anyone looking for jennies we have them right now. We also still have Sadie who is with foal. I have alot of emails and phone calls on her but she is still here. She is a sweet jenny, I wish I knew how far along she was but the previous owner doesn't have a clue. I will have her checked soon. I have 4 in 1 shots to give out I haven't had the time to do it lately though. I hate doing the shots and I always procrastinate until I can't anymore. We also have Piper, she is the smallest jenny I have ever owned. Savannah swears she is hers, but we all know Johnny is, she is just trying to keep them all !!!
We went to the stock sale last week, just to make me mad is the only reason I can figure I even go anymore. I did not take a trailer or I would have brought home a old starved Belgium Draft Horse. I do not understand how people let these animals starve to death. He couldn't even lift his head or open his eyes. He was skin and bones. And why does the auction let them in??? I could go on all day on this subject but if any of you ever see a horse out there in these conditions please call USERL or us or any rescue league. I did not stick aroud to see how much that poor horse went for but I hope he got a good home to help him, that is what I tell myself anyway.
We made it in the http://www.saltblackgazette.com/ we are on page 8 & 9 if you would like to look at the story. Thanks to everyone for humoring our donkey family!!!
July 22, 2008
We are back from the beach thank GOD!!!! That was the most horrible so called vacation our family has ever had. We spent 2 days of it in the hospital with our 5 year old Savannah, she is much better now. We could make a Mastercard commercial after our trip, I guess the priceless part would be being back home.
All of the donkeys are doing well. We went to the Trotting C Miniature Horse Sale Saturday and ended up with 2 mini horses!!! One pulls a cart for the kids and the other is mine!!! She is only 3 months old solid black and my new baby!!!! The donkeys all lined up at the fence to see what we had brought home. I guess they are wondering what happened to her ears!!!
Before we left Katy coliced. She is doing much better now, we are not sure why she got so sick but all is well now. The barn is coming along, I can't wait to open up the second pasture. They will be able to come and go as they please. My plan is to keep the keepers separate from the donkeys we have for sale. And then we would separate the mama and babies from the others.
We have several people wanting to come out to visit donkeys so if you are looking at one today it could be the one someone looked at yesterday so be sure to call and see if the one you have in mind is still available. Thanks
September 1, 2008
Where did the summer go??? And the year for that matter. All of our kids are back in school and our new fence is almost done!!! I can't wait to be able to put the babies out in their own pasture where the bullies can't get them. Next we will get the run in shed ready so we don't have to put them in and out of the barn.
Okey Dokey left this week, we miss him so much. Also, Festus and Crackerjack left today. Some are easier to let go than others, when they are going to be far away it is harder on me. Also, little Okey Dokey was our first baby and poor Dolly Mama is lost with out him. I can only imagine how she feels. I don't think I can do the breeding thing!!! This is too hard on me and they aren't really even my babies!!! One thing that makes me feel better is they are in great homes and they are loved very much.
We took Festus and Crackerjack today and they are going to have so much fun with those little pigs and goats! Cyndi rescues pigs and she has a great set-up for them.
September 27, 2008
Well our bad luck has come back, we done so well for so long. Dolly Mama is not doing well. She has an abcess in her foot and we took her to the vet because we were concerned because she was putting no weight on it at all. We got x-rays back that shows her coffin bone is disappearing from years of chronic neglect. Gale the vet says she was probably never trimmed before arriving at our farm. Her abcess has not reared it's ugly head as of it. She will put no weight on her leg at all. We are going to have to wait for the abcess to come out before we can continue with trying corrective shoes or boots for her. Gale says she gets bad bones of the year award. Not an award we wanted but here we are. We are going to get Miss Dolly Mama better, it's going to take time and money but we aren't going to give up on her. If anyone has ever dealt with this before please let me know this is new to us.
On a brighter note we have the new guys in and a new jenny. They are precious, we are working on names this weekend, I know one is Spit Fire because that is what he is. They have all had their feet trimmed and been wormed, we still have some work to do with them but they are coming along. Spit Fire is only 3 months old and got a cold on his 9 hour drive here. He is getting better but has been coughing all week. We had to give him some shots to get him better and puts up a fight. So his name is Spit Fire for now. Come out and visit us.
October 6, 2008 Rainbow Bridge
Well, we have a first, not one I wanted to experience. Lefty passed away Thursday. Gale the vet suspects shipping fever and my friend that brought them lost one of his as well on Saturday. We tried to give these animals a fighting chance and I guess you will run into this with what we are doing and I know I can't save them all but it does break my heart. Even though Left was only here a week and a half he has left his little hoof prints on my heart forever. If people would just take better care of their animals we wouldn't have to go through this. But we have saved the other 5 and they are well now. Everyone has been on antibiotic shots, which I hate, and they are still in the barn in quarintine for now but I will be letting them out on the green stuff soon. I am glad that we keep them up for 2 weeks whether they are well or not to not contamiate the entire herd when they arrive.
Thanks to all our friends and family that came out to help when Lefty died. It really means alot to me and I couldn't keep doing this without the support of each one of you.
The new run in barn has siding on it now and a roof before weekend, so they should all love that because they have been going in it whether it has siding and roof on it or not so now they are ready for winter.
October 12, 2008
As some of you already know little Jimmy Buffet also passed away after Lefty. He was so down after Lefty died he just never bounced back. We have been through alot with this new crew since they arrived 3 weeks ago. Each one of them have touched our hearts in a way that I know I won't bounce back from. I did take little Jimmy Buffet off for autopsy to be safe. We should have the results in this week to make sure before we turn the rest of their herd out. The other three jacks have really bonded since the other 2 have passed.
We have had several visitors this weekend, Meredith came all the way from Chapel Hill and we had been planning her visit for awhile. And then today we had a returning customer bring a friend out who bought Billie Jean.
None of the exisiting herd from Ohio will leave here until they have all been well for at least another week. We will be getting in the results this week and know what we are up against in case the symptoms do come back so we an treat accordingly. I wouldn't want anyone else to have to deal with the loss of a donkey like we have. We have went so long without loosing any I guess we thought we were immune to loosing animals. I still would have gotten Lefty and Jimmy even knowing what I know now, it was worth knowing we did all we could to help them live to have them at our farm even for a short while. Thanks Gale our wonderful vet for all of your help the last couple of weeks. We couldn't do it without you! I wanted to give up on ever doing this again and Gale has reminded me how many we have saved, so if they need a home they will always have one here.
October 16, 2008
Happy Birthday Savannah!!! The big 6 today. Busy day. Everyone, donkeys included are doing fine now. I think we are finally over the hump. Thank God, it sure did take alot of prayers to keep these little guys well. Billy Jean has found herself a great new home but will stay with us for a little while longer. And Caleb and Beau are going to Chapel Hill as soon as their pasture and barn are done, they too have found a great new home. We have inherited a small standard jenny who is brown and white spotted and 6 years old. She is very sweet but does miss her first mommy. Let me know if I can help anybody.
November 2, 2008
I have tried to update our web site and still have much more to add. We are back to giving shots again, seems like these little donkeys can't get a break. Spit Fire started with a runny nose and just to be safe we are treating everyone in his stall. On a brighter note we have lots of new donkeys. And oddly enough they are all jennies. We have a couple available for purchase we are just waiting on registration papers to come back in.
Our new run in shed is up and not running....they won't go into it now. When Kris was in the process of building it they stayed in it without roof or sides and now that it is done they don't even go in it to poop. I'm going to add their feed to it and see if that changes their minds.
We did get the report back on little Jimmy Buffett, poor little guy had been sick all his short life. He had abcessess on his lungs and her report found that by the time the pneumonia showed signs the medicine doesn't have time to take effect. So no matter what we did for Lefty or for Jimmy it wouldn't have helped but at least they were happy and warm and fed for the short time they were in our lives and really put things in perspective for us and our rescues.
November 18, 2008
We have had a horrible week her at our house and our farm. Good news first, or the best out of all, I have pneumonia but I'm slowly getting better. We have all been sick and the animals had been fine up until last night. My son went to the barn to feed last night and came running back up, Little Willow was dead. She had not been sick, she was eating when fed yesterday morning and was up and moving. There were no signs she was even sick. She had been sick a few weeks ago after Jimmy and Lefty passed but not recently. In fact she looked better than ever. We have sent her off for an autopsy because we are just dumbfounded and son't know where to turn. Ever since we brought the guys in from Ohio we have had nothing but had luck, something the ones that died brought into our barn has now killed one of our own. I can't even start to tell you how upset I am with this and then today when you think it can't get any worse it does. Kris fed this morning, everyone was fine, he went back down at lunch time to check on everyone for me when he came home to check on me and Spit Fire was laying down but still breathing. So I went to the barn with blankets and vet kit. I gave him everything I had got the vet on the phone and got him warmed up. He did not have a runny nose or a cough or anything. He was hydrated and looking fine this morning. Six hours later he was still hanging on for life and I just didn't want to see him suffer anymore, he had been at it all day and we didn't even know what we were treating. So I called the vet to come out and put him down. While she was on her way we went back to the barn to get ready for her and Spit Fire had dinally gave up he died. I really don't know what to say. There were no signs, nothing. I have never dealt with this before much less 4 in a little over a month. How can this happen when I'm trying to help these animals and have given them more than they have ever had and they are dieing? I just don't get it. All I can say is please pray for me and my family and my donkeys and horses. Hopefully we will know some results on Willow tomorrow. Maybe that will give us some insight on where to go from here. In the mean time the vet is coming out tomorrow to get a game plan for where to go from here. I pray it is over now, no one else got sick when they first came in but Willow and Spit Fire. I can't take much more. So hopefully the worst of the worst is over. I doubt I can take anymore rescues in until I have a separate barn in a separate pasture for them, I can't risk loosing my animals.
Little Savannah said maybe Cheyenne (our baby who passed away) just wanted a few donkeys and must have really liked Willow and wanted them all in heaven for her to play with.
November 20, 2008 Update on Willow and Spit Fire's report
Well little Will had several issues that kept her from growing correctly and that eventually killed her. She had a lesion on her brain that may have caused her to have an anuerysym (SP?) her stomach was the size of a cat's stomach which she said was very odd, but she could only hold small amount of food at a time which kept her from growing. And her pancreas had something going on with it, I don't really understand it all but we are still waiting on the report to come in this is just what the vet called and told me.
Now Spit Fire, it is not completely known yet but it is believed that he ate the bedding, we have pellett bedding that you soak and it expands, I have swore by this bedding for over a year but no more. He ate the little pellets that didn't get completely soaked and it filled his stomach up and started to firment. We are still waiting on the final report but so far this is what we know. At least it is nothing contagious, we don't have to worry about everyone else getting something with no symptoms. I guess it is just a fluke that it all happened within a few days of each other and just our luck.
January 14, 2009
Wow sorry it has been sooooo long since our last update. So much has happened. We have added 2 bull calves to our herd. Kris has been bottle feeding them but they are somewhat weaned now. We currently have 23 donkeys, 3 of those are due within the month. We have the 2 horses and then the 2 calves so 27 animals eating hay!!!! Our bad luck has wore off finally. We ended up loosing Sassyfrass as our last one to go. So five total were lost from what the Ohio jacks brought in. We have decided from now on and rescues we do that are that sick will have to go to a separate barn instead of risking any of our own herd. We have been working on our breeding stock and have added several great jennies and a stud jack we may keep.
We do have the blog spot now so I was going to try to add updates there so we can get feedback from our stories. And our biggest new news is that our current herd sire Cheyenne's Johnny Be Good is going to be in a movie through our local School of the Arts. He is going to be the new Spuds Mackenzie of the donkey world!!! I wish, but anyway it is pretty cool.
We have 3 jennies as I said before getting ready to foal, 2 are gray and one is chocolate and depending on the babies we may very well have 3 for sale. If you want to be put on the waiting list for these foals let me know what you are wanting and we may be able to help.
We have new jacks and jennies in and I will get pictures of them on Friday as they get their feet trimmed and get them up on the web site. Try to stay warm out there it's freezing here : )
April 1, 2009
Alright I suck at keeping you all updated. Wow, alot has happened, we have a huge herd and foals arriving again soon, we have 2 weanling foals now and they are thriving. I don't know how I will be able to let him go. Another part of this job that sux!!
Lanie is still pregnant, we had her checked Christmas Eve I believe and the vet said yep any day now, well we are still waiting on her anyday and she is finally getting a milk bag. It's about time!!! Our farrier is convinced she is having twins. I hope so but that would mean I would have to assist and it sure is hard to catch them having these babies.
We had another great field trip in March with our son's pre-school. They all got to ride or sit on Johnny. They also enjoyed a hay ride and petting and feeding the donkeys and of course you have to have pin the tail on the donkey but none of our donkeys wanted to cooperate with this game so we had to get a blow-up donkey. Just as much fun though. It is great to see kids get to interact with the donkeys who have never even been to a farm much less been that up close with farm animals.
We have decided with all the foals arriving and the growing herd that we are going to down size a bit. Check out our for sale page and see what all we have up for sale. I am pregnant and the barn chorse have gotten to be pretty hard lately.
If you have Facebook check us out on it. Mine is under Melanie Hoots.
We are in the July issue of the Saltblock Gazette !!!
